Email Setup for Gmail accounts

Thunderbird -
Incoming Mail
POP Server: pop.gmail.com
POP Port: 995
Secure Connection: SSL
Outgoing Mail
SMTP Server: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port: 465
Secure Connection: SSL

Windows Mail-

Select Tools - Accounts - Mail - Add - Mail.
Enter your name. Click Next.
Enter your full Gmail address. Click Next.
Enter pop.gmail.com for Incoming Mail Server.
Enter smtp.gmail.com for Outgoing Mail Server. Click Next.
Enter your email address for Account Name.
Enter your password. Click Next. Click Finish.
Click Set As Default.
Click Properties - Advanced.
Enter 465 in the Outgoing mail (SMTP): field.
Check This server requires a secure connection (SSL).
Under Incoming mail (POP3), check This server requires a secure connection (SSL). The port should change to 995.

...Optional:
Select Tools - Options - General.
Change Check for new messages to every 1 minute.


Troubleshooting

Some versions of Outlook don't work well with Gmail. Updating Microsoft Office may solve the problem. Visit http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/default.aspx, and click Check for Updates.
